Welcome to the beginning of a great adventure for me. I am currently participating from the Maya West Writing Project Summer Institute in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Bienvenidos al inicio de lo que es una gran aventura para mí. Actualmente estoy participando del “Maya West Writing Project Summer Institiute”en Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Este instituto recibe apoyo del “National Writing Project”. (Si desean aprender más sobre ambos proyectos pueden pulsar aqui.)
Participants in the institute were asked to complete an experimental piece in writing. This experimental piece had to be a type of writing that has never been attempted by the writers. I thought about what would be an interesting experimental piece for me and decided that I would try my hand at initiating and maintaining a blog that provides discussions of topics that interest educators.
A los participantes del instituto se les pidió que completaran una pieza de escritura experimental. La pieza de escritura experimental tenía que ser un género de escritura que nunca había sido tratada por el escritor. Pensé sobre que podría ser una pieza de escritura experimental interesante para mí y decidí que trataría de iniciar y mantener un “blog” que se dedicara a discutir temas de interés para educadores.
At the Maya West Writing Project Summer Institute the teachers have the option of writing in English and/or Spanish. Thus, I have decided to have the topics discussed in this blog in English and Spanish. This means that ALL educators are welcome to come and join in the discussions.
En el “Maya West Writing Project Summer Institute” los maestros tenemos la opción de escribir en ingles y/o en español. Así que decidí que los temas de discusión en este “blog” serán en ambos idiomas. Esto significa que TODO educador es bienvenido a unirse a las discusiones.
I would like to begin with an interest survey. Its purpose is to gather information on what topics are of great interest within the educational communities of today.
Para empezar me gustaría llevar a cabo una encuesta para conocer los temas que son de gran interés dentro de las comunidades educativas de hoy.
